Well one more day and it will be Candice moving time. We are taking her up on Sunday and I will stay there one night and take the train back on Monday after she is settled in and all her stuff put away. I should be able to loose those extra pounds I lost and put back on between her
being gone six weeks and losing 8 lbs and gaining back 4 in the 3 weeks she has been home.
The pool hit 66 degrees today a couple more and it will be perfect. If only the sun could stay out long enough for me to enjoy it. I hope it doesnt rain all summer like last year. I really only got in a couple of good weeks of swim time with it going in so late and then all the rain we got in August.
Everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed. I made another towel wedding cake. Garry's niece is getting married and the shower is next sunday in toronto so mom and i are going up with garrys aunt jean anne. This one is while towels with red roses. It\s hard to make for someone you dont really know so I hope she likes it.
A picture of Garry's shed will be comming soon. It should be completed by next weekend. It is comming along really good. The neighbour across the road is building it and he is doing a great job. I will proberly last longer than the house and we might be living in it eventually. He is also going to build a loft in the garage to put all the summer stuff away for the winter so it wont have to go into my basement giving me more space for my sewing room and I will actually be able to park my car in there during the winter. No more scraping off windsheilds. I am really begining to like this guy.

I had my relay for life yardsale saturday, it went very well. I ended up with $496.00. I had alot of stuff donated from the neighbours to help me out. I had a few large a mini fridge that went of $50.00, a computer and desk that our neighbour from Whites rd bought along with the computer desk for $70.00 and a violin that a guy at work gave me to sell it went for $75.00. It was a beginners model and was only $200.00 new so I was happy for to get what I did. I would not have gone lower. I would have donated it to our adopt a school's music program instead.
So I am well on my way to my goal. The person who gets the most pledges on our teams will get to add the $2000.00 cheque from Wal-mart putting them in the top pledges catagory, so the battle is on. Wish me luck

When is a bedroom not a bedroom? When it's a solarium. Yes Candice's new bedroom is going to be a solarium. She will be renting the small room for $595.00 a month. The ad read, if all you need is a roof over your head then the benifits outweight the space and she wasn't kidding.
The room mate works 3-11pm Candice works 8.30-4.30 so they will never see each other. The $595.00 includes, everything, cable, movies on demand, wireless internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, heat, hydro, phone, and the use of the entire apartment, so who cares that the room only fits a single bed, a dresser, and a bookshelf, all she ever has to go in there for is to sleep.
The building is a security building with security on site, 24 hr grocery store. 24 hr library, indoor and outdoor jaquzi and a sauna and a gym. So looks like I have to make some BIG A** curtains to cover her door, since its all glass.

YEAH, Candice got the girl guide job, it will pay her 43500.00 for the year. It is a one year maternaty contract and she is ok with that because she only wanted to put in one or two years and then move on , so this works out great. there is no quilt about quitting. So now it is appartment hunting time.

Candice's interview went really well, it seemed she was the first person they interviewed because they were not really ready. It is a one year maternaty position and she is ok with that.
It will give her great experience to be able to use for other jobs. It lasted an hour and they even had to get the girl who is leaving to come in and give a job describition because they didn't have one ready yet. Within half hour of her interview they called her and asked for her references. So it looks really good. Lets all keep our fingers and toes crossed for another week. The job would start the beginning of June which means she can finish off her internship get a little break before getting into the real grownup job world.

As I am taking my patio furniture outside since it was like a billion degress here yesterday, I took a few minutes to check the news and see the snow dumped on our relatives to the West and felt bad for all of you. I was very happy to finaly see some sun and get outside in it. I hope it doesnt stay too long and you see some sort of resemblance of summer soon.
Candice has an interview Thursday with Girl Guides, so I need all the prayers we can get to help her out. Her resume is nothing to sneeze at and she has alot of volunteer experience but a little divine intervention never hurt anybody. I am going to do what Grandmere always did in cases like this and I am going to light a candle today at chruch for her. I know Candice is cringing right about now as she reads this line. I am playing into all the sterio type organzied religious stuff she likes to rant on about. Sorry pooky, but it always worked for Grandmere.

Inventory is done and over with so stress days are gone now until vacation time rolls around and the office is short staffed and pulling double duty, but for now, back to normal.
We start our store craft auciton tomorrow with crafts items donated for our relay for life team. The auction will run until the following friday and will end with a bake sale. So everything looks like it is on track.
Next will be my big yard sale with the money for that going to my relay pledge form. I hope it is enough to beat Tim because he has been talking alot of smack about beating me out. It's all in fun and the money is going to good cause so I say bring it on Tim.

It's that time of year again. I will once again be doing the 12 hour relay for the Cancer Society.
The walk takes place \June 20/21 so expect e-mails from my Relay of Life site. Anyone wishing to pledge but do not want to do it online, I can get you the information on where to deposite your pledge. I do not want anyone to feel obligated to donate. I know everyone has busy lives and causes of their own they support so I will appreciate anything that anyone can do for me even if it is just a prayer I last all night or an e-mail of encourgeent.
I do feel though like I have to explain that there is a challenge between myself and the other
Relay team leader. Whichever of us has the most pledges, the other will have to bow down to them and crown them at one of our morning meetings. So you can see I am very determined to win. Work will match anything we can raise as a team so that gives us all lots of incentives to take their money. Wish me luck.
Hello there folks. I am typing this message from my new laptop. With Candice in TO we have been talking online and my computer, which was Candice's desktop from school is downstairs in the sewing room. I came up one day to get a nice hot cup of tea because my hands were getting chilli down there and the next thing you know, Garry is buying me a laptop so I dont have to be downstairs in the cold anymore. Can we say spoiled!!!!!!!!!!! \I am sure I did something to deserve it.

More pictures of Candice's fundraiser.

This is Candice's fund raiser that me, mom and Nicole went to. I donated a quilt I made for their auction. It went for $215.00. WTF. I figured 50.00 bucks, no, people were there to spend their money and they did. There was this pottery bowl. You know the kind you pick up in a yard sale for a quarter and give to someone as a birthday present. It went of $95.00. I was nice to see though that the stuff that was donated by people didnt just go for 5 or 10 bucks. It some of the stuff looked it alot of work was put into it.
Candice is offically in Toronto. Starts here internship on Tuesday and hopefully by the end of all this she would have made enough contact to get her a job. Of course she could live home forever if she wants.

HERE IS WISHING EVERYONE I MISSED THIS YEAR SO FAR A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. AND I KNOW I MISSED ALOT OF YOU.

Here is also all the Happy Valentine's Day, Happy St. Patricks Day, Happy Easter, and all the Happy Anniversary's for the year.

This September will be 20 for Garry and I and all I want is for him to take me to Niagra Falls.
I have told him enough times so it's not like he doesn't know what I want.
Hey! it's me again. Not much to report. I suppose everyone got hit mega with all the snow this winter. I have never seen it sooooo bad. Last weekend the plow got stuck on our street and had to push all the snow in peoples drive ways so he could get to the end of the road and start pushing the snow to the end of the road. Yeah. this was after Garry, Matt, Al, me , Nicole, and Val did about nine driveways. Garry and Matt used the snowblower and the rest of us shoveled out the cars to get them out of the driveways so Garry and Matt could finish with the snowblower. Lucky for us the drive ways the plow filled were not the ones we did. There is about 5 guys on our street with snowblowers who will help out their neighbour. There are two that do not. But that's ok, because they don't get invited to the town meetings on Fridays.
We all get together and play some cards about every other Friday. It has made the winter a little more bearable. In the summer everyone just sits out in the garage and drinks beer. Of course this year, I will be spending all my evenings in the Pool.
I hope everyone else is bearing the winter as well as we are.
Mom will be home Easter Sunday. Who needs chocolate, I get my mommy back.
